About Laser Assisted Hatching
Laser Assisted Hatching (LAH) is a technique used during IVF to help an embryo implant in the uterus. It involves using a precise laser to create a small opening in the embryo’s outer shell (zona pellucida), making it easier for the embryo to “hatch” and attach to the uterine lining.
This procedure is especially helpful for:
-
Women over 35
-
Patients with previous failed IVF cycles
-
Embryos with thick outer shells
-
Frozen-thawed embryos
LAH is safe, quick, and improves the chances of successful implantation in selected cases.
