A Simple, Affordable Fertility Treatment with Real Results
IUI, or Intrauterine Insemination, is one of the simplest and most commonly used assisted reproductive techniques. It is a non-invasive, low-cost fertility treatment that involves placing specially prepared sperm directly into a woman’s uterus during ovulation to increase the chances of fertilization.
At IshwaIVF, we offer IUI as a first-line fertility solution for couples struggling with mild infertility or unexplained fertility issues.
Who Can Benefit from IUI?
IUI is recommended in the following situations:
- Unexplained infertility
- Mild male infertility (low sperm count or motility)
- Cervical mucus issues that hinder sperm movement
- Ovulation problems (such as PCOS)
- Use of donor sperm
- Difficulty with intercourse due to physical or psychological reasons
- Couples trying timed cycles before proceeding to IVF

Step-by-Step IUI Procedure
- Ovulation Monitoring The woman’s ovulation is tracked using ultrasound and/or hormone tests. In some cases, fertility medications are prescribed to stimulate egg development.
- Semen Collection & Washing The male partner (or donor) provides a semen sample, which is then “washed” in a lab to concentrate healthy, motile sperm.
- Sperm Insemination Using a thin, flexible catheter, the prepared sperm is inserted directly into the uterus. The procedure is quick, painless, and takes just a few minutes.
- Post-Procedure Rest & Follow-Up The patient may rest for a short while before going home. A pregnancy test is done about two weeks later to confirm results.
