About Blastocyst Culture
Blastocyst culture is a key step in in vitro fertilization (IVF), where embryos are cultured for 5-6 days after fertilization to reach the blastocyst stage. This allows embryologists to select the healthiest and most viable embryos for transfer into the uterus, improving the chances of a successful pregnancy.
During this time, embryos undergo crucial development, forming a fluid-filled cavity and distinct layers that will eventually form the placenta and fetus.
