About Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to examine and treat issues inside the uterus. A hysteroscope (a thin, lighted tube) is inserted through the cervix into the uterus. It allows doctors to diagnose and treat conditions like fibroids, polyps, adhesions, or abnormal bleeding without the need for major surgery.
Types of Hysteroscopy:
- Diagnostic Hysteroscopy: Used to examine the uterus and diagnose issues.
- Operative Hysteroscopy: Involves surgical treatment, such as removing fibroids, polyps, or correcting septum defects.
